Laura is a professionally trained violinist with over four decades of performance experience, beginning her studies at the age of three under Lois Durran through the Suzuki-based music program at Penn State University. From early childhood, her training was grounded in disciplined classical technique and refined musical development.
She continued her studies at the Peabody Conservatory and the Washington Conservatory of Music, developing as both a soloist and orchestral musician. Laura performed on stage at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and worked in association with the National Symphony Orchestra, including substitute performance engagements. She was a finalist in an NSO international music competition and was awarded the Susan Patterson Honorary Chair in recognition of artistic mastery.
As a member of the Friday Morning Music Club in Washington, D.C., Laura performed extensively throughout the capital region, including engagements within the embassy community.
Her artistic formation was shaped under the guidance of distinguished musicians including Berl Senofsky, Elizabeth Adkins (Associate Concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra), Charles Wetherbee (former member of the NSO and current Concertmaster of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra), Hyung Moon Ahn, and pianist Ed Newman. Additional refinement came through chamber music institutes, summer programs, and masterclasses with artists such as Pamela Frank.
Rooted in the classical tradition, Lauraβs work extends across cinematic, Celtic, worship, traditional, contemporary, and crossover styles. In addition to interpreting established repertoire, she creates and records original works and custom arrangements tailored to individual artistic requests.
Her playing is distinguished by tonal warmth, expressive depth, and technical precision β guided by a highly developed musical ear and a lifelong dedication to artistry.
